We've had some sobering news. Three close friends have Covid. Coming on the heels of Mollie and Chris having had it too. We had already started wearing masks in indoor public situations. Now we are considering foregoing indoor public events again. So, no restaurants. theaters, etc. I suppose I should postpone my plan to begin travelling on public conveniences too.
They are working on a new vaccine. It will be the same story though. Half the people here don't want it. Most of the world can't get it. This is a plan to fail.
We got a call 3 days after I took my husband to get his 'annual' haircut. The gal that cut his hair had come down with Covid. 5 days later, we are still okay. And you are absolutely correct. About those who won't get it.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor I hike with has had it 3 times, and each time he tells me after a long illness, that he is immune. I shrug and think about how many people in his family have been so sick. How can an illness be so divisive?
*get the vaccine I mean....
ReplyDeleteOh yes, covid is far from over. Our best protection is still to be fully vaccinated. It won't stop transmission but will lessen the severity if caught. I'm still staying away from large gatherings, both indoors and outdoors, although we do occasionally eat in at a restaurant.
ReplyDeleteNumbers are increasing rapidly here too. Our mask mandate has been removed. And I ignore that.
